John my son, Roz, his wife, and I spent ten days on the Bilikiki this spring and  two weeks on the Sea Safari II  in the spring of 2005 on an extended dive and cruise from Sarong on the north end of New Guinea, via Banda Neira (the spice island) to Maumere. The diving was memorable and pictures on the Indonesia 2005 page attest to the undersea life we saw. Crossing the Banda Sea in a narrow beamed, shallow draft Indonesian vessel was an experience I will  remember! The photo  number is 1111-37.

Un fortunately at the start of our trip on the Bilikiki in March of 2006 my camera housings both leaked and I was not able to get any pictures. However we recommend the Bilikiki to anyone that wants to dive in the Pacific.

I  was very lucky to be able to continue to dive and take pictures through out my 70's. I decided to hang up my mask and fins when I passed 80 last year.

As I review all of the pictures I have taken over the last ten years I am sure I will be able to keep this website interesting for you to scan from time to time.

Enjoy browsing the galleries. You can click the pictures and they will expand. Unless than otherwise noted all of these pictures were exposed using Velvia ASA 50 film.

If any of you want a copy of one of the pictures drop don an e-mail at don at donsutherland.com. You can get quite a good print from the enlarged images using your printer.
